Description
Whole Body Psychiatry is a boutique, growing private practice specializing in the intersection of mental health and complex medical illness, with a strong focus on the gut–brain axis and consultation-liaison psychiatry. We provide highly personalized care in a supportive, patient-centered environment. All administrative burdens are fully managed so that clinicians can focus on what matters most: high-quality patient care.
Our practice is expanding, and we’re looking for psychiatrists who want to grow with us over the next several years in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.
We are seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist to join our practice on a contract basis. This role offers flexibility to work remotely, in-person in New York City, or a combination of both. Mentorship and professional growth opportunities are available, making this an excellent fit for early-career or mid-career psychiatrists who want to deepen expertise in medically complex populations.
The ideal candidate is:
Open to learning and ongoing professional development.
Warm, approachable, and skilled at building therapeutic alliances.
Collaborative and team-oriented, comfortable working alongside other medical and mental health providers.
Interested in a long-term commitment (at least several years) as the practice continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide psychiatric evaluations and ongoing care for adults with complex medical and psychiatric comorbidities (including gastrointestinal, autoimmune, and other chronic illnesses).
Collaborate with other treating providers (gastroenterology, primary care, psychology, etc.) to ensure integrated care.
Deliver care via telepsychiatry or in-person sessions.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation within the practice’s EMR.
Participate in mentorship and case consultation opportunities.
Requirements
MD or DO degree with board certification in Psychiatry (required).
Active medical license in New York (required); additional state licensure strongly preferred.
Fellowship training and board certification in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry (preferred).
Strong interest in the gut–brain axis, psychosomatic medicine, and complex medical-psychiatric care.
Excellent communication, empathy, and collaboration skills.
A warm bedside manner and commitment to patient-centered care.
