- Clinical Assistant Professor - Ambulatory Care

The University of Houston College of Pharmacy invites qualified applicants to apply for a fulltime, clinical-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Translational Research. We are seeking outstanding individuals with an established or emerging track interest in teaching, research, and service (clinical and academic) in the field of ambulatory care pharmacy. The successful candidate will be involved in didactic teaching and experiential rotations for PharmD students and graduate programs. Scholarly activities based on the applicant's expertise are an expectation.
Responsibilities for the position will include didactic and experiential teaching in the professional pharmacy program, progress towards obtaining national/international stature as an ambulatory care specialist, and developing a scholarship focus in ambulatory care pharmacy. The department and college
will provide you with the mentorship and resources for you to be able to fulfill these objectives. The practice site will be one of two Federally Qualified Healthcare Center, in collaboration with the University of Houston College of Medicine.
The Department of Pharmacy Practice and Translational Research is made up of 34 full-time faculty members. The vision of the department is to be a leader in pharmacy and postgraduate education through excellence in translational, clinical and outcomes research. The department has a strong group of faculty that conduct high-level clinical and translational research. This will be a key position to build our ambulatory care focus.
The position is fully funded by the University of Houston College of Pharmacy.
Requirements
The candidates should possess a PharmD degree along with either residency/fellowship training or have equivalent experience. Applicants must be eligible for Texas licensure. In addition to scholarship, the applicant will teach in the didactic and skills portion of the curriculum related to ambulatory care and expected to take P4 students on APPE rotations. Applicants will be expected to develop a nationally recognized reputation in their chosen area of expertise through teaching, service, and scholarship.
Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
