Description
Deputy CFOWe are seeking an exceptional Deputy CFO to join our Insurance Group-a major PLC with complex, multi-jurisdictional operations. Reporting to the CFO, you will lead transformative change across the finance function while managing a team of senior managers and directors. This is a high-impact role driving financial excellence in a dynamic, regulated PLC environment.
We welcome applications from leaders in insurance or from banking, asset management, or other large-scale industries, particularly those with proven transformation experience in PLC settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the CFO to define and execute the group's financial strategy amid significant transformation.
- Lead and manage senior managers and directors across the finance function, fostering a culture of performance, accountability, and change readiness.
- Drive large-scale finance transformation programs, including process optimization, system modernization, digitalization, and operating model redesign.
- Oversee financial planning, forecasting, reporting, control, and analysis for a large PLC with diverse business lines.
- Ensure robust governance, risk management, and compliance with PLC standards, IFRS, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide strategic financial insight to the Executive Committee and Board, influencing key decisions on capital allocation, M&A, and growth.
- Champion cost efficiency, productivity improvements, and value creation through transformation initiatives.
- Build and develop a world-class finance leadership team capable of delivering in a high-transformation environment.
- Manage stakeholder relationships with investors, auditors, and regulators in a PLC context.
- Seasoned finance executive with 10+ years at senior leadership level in large PLCs or equivalent complex organizations.
- Deep experience leading major finance transformations in regulated sectors like insurance, banking, or asset management.
- Proven track record managing large teams of senior managers and directors through periods of significant change.
- Strong commercial mindset with PLC boardroom exposure and investor relations savvy.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with expertise in complex financial reporting.
- Resilient leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-stakes environments with ambiguity and scale.
- Excellent communicator able to influence C-suite peers and external stakeholders.
- A pivotal leadership role in a leading PLC Insurance Group undergoing ambitious transformation.
