DATA ENGINEER II; Travelers; ST. PAUL, MN–WFH 2 days/wk. Build & operationalize complex data solutions; troubleshoot/correct problems; apply transformations; recommend data cleansing/quality solutions. Analyze complex sources to determine value/use; recommend data for analytics. Req’s: MS (or equiv) in CS or rel. field + 4 yrs exp as Engineer working w/ data; OR BS (or equiv) in CS or rel. field + 6 yrs progressive exp as Engineer working w/ data. Also req (4 yrs exp): w/any of the following programming lang: Python/PySpark/Scala/SQL; w/ relational & NoSQL DBs (e.g., Teradata, PostgreSQL, DB2, Oracle, and/or DynamoDB); w/ modern sw eng practices incl Cloud/Big Data platforms, Data Analytics, Data Parsing, Business Req’s gathering & Data Eng techniques; w/ mainframe tech (esp in hybrid envs where legacy systems intersect w/ modern data solutions); w/ Business Insurance Data & Data Products; plus demonstrable exp w/ insurance data concepts (premium, losses, insurable objects, coverages, etc.) & application to Actuarial & Analytics projects.
