Job Summary
The ERP Data Specialist is responsible for creating, maintaining, and managing accurate data within the ERP system, including item master records, Bills of Material (BOMs), routings, and related manufacturing data. This role supports manufacturing, procurement, planning, engineering, supply chain, and finance teams by ensuring data integrity, consistency, and compliance with established data governance standards. The position plays a key role in supporting operational efficiency, production planning, inventory management, and financial processes across multiple manufacturing sites.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Create and maintain item master records, including product descriptions, units of measure, classifications, and planning parameters.
Build, update, and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs), ensuring component accuracy, quantities, and revision control.
Maintain manufacturing routings, work centers, labor standards, and production-related system data.
Process Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) while following change management procedures.
Perform routine data audits to verify the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of ERP records.
Collaborate with engineering, production, supply chain, procurement, and finance teams to validate and maintain data accuracy.
Investigate and resolve data-related issues affecting production planning, inventory control, costing, and manufacturing operations.
Develop and maintain documentation for data standards, naming conventions, procedures, and governance policies.
Support ERP system upgrades, software testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with data governance practices and maintain high standards of data integrity.
Manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines for data setup, updates, and system maintenance.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements / Skills
Associate's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Strong understanding of item master records, Bills of Material (BOMs), manufacturing routings, and work centers.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production environments.
High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Experience working with ERP systems preferred.
Familiarity with engineering change management processes is beneficial.
Knowledge of data governance and master data management practices preferred.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Strong documentation and process management skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
