OverviewGeneral Manager
The general manager will oversee the property and report to Elite Golf Management. We would prefer the General Manager have previous management experience in a similar position. The General Manager is accountable for the financial performance and all areas of operations for the Club, and directly manages all clubhouse functions and will ensure the synergism of all Club activities. The General Manager is the bridge to the staff and from Elite Golf and course ownership.

Our par 72 course offers a captivating golfing experience with breathtaking views and numerous elevated tees that showcase the stunning natural beauty of our landscape. Canyon West is more than just a golf course; it's a vibrant community asset. Our goal is to create a welcoming space for everyone, not just golfers. From hosting various non-profit golf tournaments to supporting the four local high school golf teams and the Weatherford College golf team, we're committed to fostering a spirit of community and inclusion.

Experience Required
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership and management experience in a similar role as a General Manager or Director of Golf.
- A Bachelor's Degree is desirable, but not a requirement.
- Passion for success with high energy and the proven ability to drive successful change while delivering strong results
- Strong strategic vision and effective communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Understanding and experience working in the golf/hospitality industry
- Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations
- Fundamental supervisory practices and principles
- Act as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employees
- Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills
- Self-motivated with desire to promote and market
- Experienced in written and oral business communications
- Experienced computer user including Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficient in other applications, i.e. email, internet, tournament, and database
- Maintain and promote a positive professional image
Essential Responsibilities
General responsibilities
- Promote the game of golf and the facility
- Conduct self in a friendly, courteous, and hospitable manner with all members/guests/staff members
- Manage and oversee department heads
- Oversee the hiring, training, and replacement of all staff members within each department except for the Course Superintendent and Head Golf Professional. These hire and discharge decisions require Elte Golf and ownership approval
- Oversee and enforce facility policies and procedures
- Manage and participate in all day to day operations and procedures
- Keep a well-maintained facility
- Promote participation in tournaments and events at the facility
- Any other duties as may be assigned by Elite Golf executive management
- Coordinates the development of long-range and annual business plans
- Coordinates the development of operating and capital budgets. - Accountable for financial performance
- Analyzes and monitors financial statements, and reviews income and expenses relative to plans, implements corrective measures as needed and reports status monthly
- Makes recommendations for capital improvements, supplies and equipment
- Assures operational compliance with local, state, and federal laws
- Maintains knowledge and compliance with all lease terms and contractual obligations
- To redefine the culture of the Club, to raise the standards and provide an enhanced level of service to the members and their guests
- Responsible for the development and implementation of all service/operating standards training
- Leadership oversight of clubhouse operations, and along with the Food & Beverage Manager, lead activities including the Restaurant along with event spaces
- Ensures the Club is compliant with regulatory requirements (Food, Liquor, Health, etc.)
- Develop, maintain, and disseminate a fundamental management philosophy that recognizes our staff is a key part of our competitive advantage
- Help design programs intended to motivate and improve the performance of staff members. These programs and initiatives should consider the needs of members and the staff
- The primary task of the General Manager is to ensure that direct reports, goals and objectives are defined, understood, evaluated, and enhanced on a continual basis
- Always develop and monitor basic personnel policies consistent with the desire to treat employees fairly, and compliant with laws and regulations
- Responsible for providing energized, motivated leadership for key managers and staff. He/she is innovative and accepts responsibility for Club performances in all areas.
- Highly visible to both members and staff, and listens to their input, praise, and criticisms
