The opportunity

We're looking for an experienced senior data & analytics leader to design, build and operate a next-generation data platform for a major healthcare provider. This is a high-impact, highly autonomous role: you'll own the vision and delivery, lead a small team, and remain hands-on while engaging senior technical, clinical and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Define the high-level architecture, roadmap and delivery plan for the data platform (cloud data platform: Snowflake; ingestion: Azure Data Factory (ADF); ATL via Informatica; self-service reporting via Power BI).
• Lead and mentor a team of ~5 data engineers / specialists; drive recruitment, capability uplift and delivery excellence.
• Work closely with IT / Security (network, firewalls, infrastructure) and clinical/business stakeholders to ensure secure, compliant and performant solutions.
• Deliver greenfield initiatives and platform refreshes; stabilise and optimise complex legacy environments.
• Act as the subject-matter expert for large datasets from ingestion through lifecycle, transformation, governance and reporting.
• Be both strategic and hands-on: set the architecture and occasionally jump into engineering or troubleshooting as needed.
• Implement process-driven delivery, drive measurable outcomes and challenge existing ways of working to improve speed and quality.
• Enable a self-service analytics capability across technical, business and clinical users.
