RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Per Diem Pediatric Hospitalist in Southern New Jersey
Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is seeking a Per Diem Pediatric Hospitalist to join the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. This is an outstanding opportunity to practice academic pediatric hospital medicine within a collaborative, mission-driven environment while maintaining schedule flexibility.
Position Overview
The Per Diem Pediatric Hospitalist will:
- Provide comprehensive inpatient care on pediatric inpatient units
- Deliver care in well-newborn nurseries and same-day medical units
- Mentor and supervise medical students and residents
- Share call, weekend, and holiday coverage with other clinical faculty in the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Remain current with hospital and departmental policies and procedures
Academic & Scholarly Responsibilities
As part of the mission of the medical school, candidates will:
- Engage in scholarly and outreach activities
- Participate in undergraduate, graduate, and continuing medical education programs
- Contribute to resident and student education
- Collaborate on research initiatives as appropriate
- Perform additional academic duties as assigned by the Chair of Pediatrics and the Division Director of Hospital Medicine, who will serve as mentor

Qualifications
- Board Certified in Pediatrics
- Board Eligible in Pediatric Hospital Medicine
- Eligible for licensure in the State of New Jersey
Compensation
- $120/hour – Weekdays
- $150/hour – Weekends
The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s educational background, skills, and professional experience.
