Department Overview

The Global Ad Technology Supervisory Department (GATD) manages the whole of the advertising systems that power Rakuten. We are a cross-functional and data-driven organization working together in a diverse team spread across four countries: Japan, Singapore, India, and China.

We develop and maintain the comprehensive advertisement platform that allows both internal stakeholders (Rakuten Ichiba merchants) and external advertisers (huge national and international clients) to freely manage their promotional mix and marketing campaigns. We are looking to expand team of project manager who can assist Rakuten affiliate group for a long term vision program which will drive substantial growth for Affiliate business overall.

Position Details

Affiliate Service Execution

- Work closely with Engineers, QA, DevOps , PJM & PDM's on regular basis.

- Be able to engage the conversations to lead to agreements on the requirement finalization.

- Be able to co-ordinate with PMO on governance an budget related matters.

- Collaborate with Managers, Sr. Managers and sometimes executive reporting as well.

- Figure out processes that can help smoothen the work style and be quick to Implement them.

- Be able to define strict milestone and track with the team to fulfillment.

- Ensuring project goals are met and take precedence over anything.

- Carry on retro's, reviews and keep the team motivated enough.

- Get things done mindset is absolute must.

Mandatory Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related technical field.

- 7-10 years of progressive experience in Project Management, with a significant portion managing complex software development or ad technology projects.

- Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale, cross-functional projects on time and within budget.

- Strong understanding and practical experience with various project management methodologies (e.g., Agile Scrum, Nexus( Scaled Scrum ), Waterfall, Hybrid) and relevant tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Asana, Microsoft Project).

- Resource management experience from cost and governance prospective.

- Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate distributed, global teams effectively.

- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus across diverse cultures and seniority levels.

- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required due to the global nature of our teams.

- Understanding of cloud technologies will be a must, as the project is going to be both highly product driven and cutting edge tech implementation.

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience in the AdTech, or e-commerce industry is highly preferred.

- PMP, PGMP, CSM, or other relevant project management certifications are a strong plus.

- Development / Engineering background prior to project management.

- Worked on product based companies and able to understand and translate the product vision and align it with tech.

- CSM/PSM( Minimum Level-1 ) as the project will require running scaled scrum.
