NeoGenomics is looking for a Research Scientist to focus on Molecular assay development who wants to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow. This is an onsite position with a Monday Friday day shift onsite in Aliso Viejo, CA.

Position Summary:
As a Senior Scientist you will provide technical leadership in developing next-generation sequencing clinical diagnostic assays for cancer patients. You will have the chance to apply your knowledge and background in clinical NGS assay development. You will lead the hands-on development process throughout the stages of feasibility, validation, regulatory submissions, and iterative improvements is a must-have.

- Independently designs and executes complex NGS experiments.
- Be proactive, creative, and pragmatic in analyzing and discussing NGS data.
- Performs the literature review, participates in creating project proposals and product requirements with stakeholders.
- Analyzes results, presents data, and updates the management team on projects.
- Provides support to research collaborations, clinical trials, and other department projects.
- Prepares high-quality technical reports (including validation, verification, and final project) and documentation, including posters/papers, client presentations, and technical content for marketing materials.
Experience, Education and Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in a life or physical science or M.D. preferred; B.S or M.S. in a life or physical science with related experience required
- Five or more years related laboratory experience in clinical diagnostic molecular assay development including Next Generation Sequencing, cancer genomics and/or comprehensive genomic profiling required
- Experience with CLIA/CAP validation and reimbursement submission including MolDx
- Solid understanding of laboratory techniques
- Ability to develop and deliver complex directions and scientific project plans
- Detail orientated with ability to capture and record complex scientific data accurately and reliably
- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills and the ability to use software tools to produce high impact presentations of data
