As part of our ongoing growth and expansion, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Social Scientist to join our growing team.
Responsibilities
This individual will be responsible for leading the National Park Service Socioeconomic Monitoring Program.
Other responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Designing and leading applied social science and socioeconomic research supporting public land and natural resource management
Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses related to visitor use, visitor experience, and socioeconomic impacts
Develop and implement research methods including surveys, interviews, focus groups, and observational studies
Support long-term monitoring by developing indicators and methodologies aligned with the NPS Socioeconomic Monitoring Program
Synthesize research findings into clear, actionable insights for land managers, policymakers, and stakeholders
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate social science data into planning and decision-making efforts
Prepare technical reports, summaries, and briefings that meet federal standards for scientific integrity and data quality
Serve as a subject matter expert on the human dimensions of public land management
Qualifications
We are looking for :
- A PhD-level senior social scientist with 10 years of experience related to the duties required to successfully complete the National Park Service Socioeconomic Monitoring Program
- Experience conducting research with public land entities on social science, Socioeconomic, visitor use, or similar land management-related projects in scope and application.
This position is a Remote role, However some travel may be required during the individuals employment.
