Description
We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level.As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Employee Platforms team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions, focusing on Databricks integration and adoption
- Build and maintain data pipelines using Databricks, ensuring efficient and reliable data processing for internal teams
- Write secure, high-quality production code in Python and participate in code reviews and debugging
- Implement and support CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery and improve operational stability
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide guidance and best practices for Databricks usage
- Participate in team discussions and activities to share knowledge and drive continuous improvement
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Exhibit proficiency in Python programming
- Build and maintain data pipelines using Databricks
- Apply practical experience with CI/CD tools and automation methods
- Demonstrate familiarity with agile development practices, application resiliency, and security
- Proficient in coding in one or more languages
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Leverage experience with AWS services such as S3, EMR, Glue, ECS/EKS, and Athena
- Attain certifications in AWS, Databricks, or automation tools
- Apply exposure to open table formats (Iceberg, Delta Lake) and data catalog tools (AWS Glue Data Catalog)
- Demonstrate interest in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, or mobile development
