Job Description:
The Student Success Data and Systems Manager is responsible for implementing and maintaining the Student Success Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for campus. This position will be growing the CRM footprint and set up the student success program to have a solid software foundation. Central to student engagement, advising, and retention strategies, this dedicated role will ensure the platform is fully leveraged to support institutional student success goals. The person in this job is a process oriented thinker, able to listen to stakeholders and translate and adapt/configure software to provide meaningful outcomes for the student experience. The Student Success Data and Systems manager will maintain existing portals, work with campus partners to develop new views and tools, provide business process analysis and technological transformation to programs and practices, and ensure the alignment of data sharing across systems and within FERPA compliance.
This position will reside within the academic program and the currently enrolled student experience ecosystem. It will report to the Associate Dean for Academic Services within the Student Support and Retention Office. This position will interface directly with day-to-day academic operations, utilize real-time data on enrolled students, and support the work of multiple offices.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary administrator, developer, and analyst of the Student Success CRM, managing configuration, updates, reporting, and new development.
- Develop and maintain automated workflows, communication campaigns, portals, and reporting tools to support retention, advising, and student success initiatives.
- Provide comprehensive training, documentation, and user support for staff, faculty, and advisors.
- Cohesive experience - knowing the lifecycle of a student begins in Admissions and ends with Alumni, this middle pillar will keep an eye towards unified brand, data and security strategies, and alignment of process with those respective areas.
- Develop new views and functionality based on feedback and need from advisors, student support offices, Student Formation offices, and other stakeholders as new projects are identified.
- Documenting "as-is" and "to-be" process flows, functional specifications, and configuration rationale.
- Monitor CRM usage and recommend improvements aligned with best practices.
- Keep campus informed about the status of ongoing development, features, and how to request new functionality.
- Follow data governance and data sharing best practices. Work with stakeholders in this space to have those practices inform platform configuration, use, and new functionality.
- Work with campus partners to develop and design new processes that support communication and programs - creating a central environment to track all tasks, communications, and requirements that support the academic and student experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- Higher Education experience in academic/student operations preferred.
- Technolutions Slate or other enterprise CRM experience preferred.
- Experience querying and reporting from relational databases preferred. Ellucian Banner a plus.
- Knowledge and experience with CSS and HTML preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with SQL preferred.
- Knowledge of FERPA.
- Highly relational and collaborative to engage and support stakeholders across campus.
- Are a process oriented thinker, ability to translate business needs into functional requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Physical Demands
This position requires remaining in a sitting or standing position for frequent periods of time; uses office machinery such as a computers, printers, copy machines; Occasionally involves moving items over 10 pounds; frequently will move between different offices/workspaces/buildings; and requires effective communication abilities.
