Company Profile

Arteris Bio

Company Overview

Arteris Bio is developing a proprietary topical delivery platform designed to transport molecules through the skin that have traditionally been difficult or impossible to deliver transdermally. Our technology uses a novel lipid-based system to enhance the penetration of polar and hydrophilic compounds, including peptides and other therapeutically relevant molecules, without skin irritation. These formulations also increase local blood flow. This combination is particularly important because improved perfusion may not only provide a therapeutic benefit itself, but can also enhance the local distribution and potential uptake of compounds after they cross the skin barrier. Arteris Bio has generated encouraging in vitro and in vivo data demonstrating substantially enhanced skin penetration and increased localized blood flow, creating opportunities across pharmaceuticals, medical products, and high-value cosmetics. The company is pursuing a capital-efficient commercialization strategy built around product development, strategic partnerships, and licensing of the platform to companies seeking new ways to deliver existing and emerging active ingredients.

Company History

Arteris Bio grew out of a nearly 15-year effort by its founder to develop a topical solution for chronically cold feet, culminating in a breakthrough formulation in February 2025. That discovery led to the recognition that the system was forming inverse micelles with potential applications in both transdermal delivery and localized blood-flow enhancement. The company filed its first patent in March 2025 and subsequently expanded its research to better define the structure, function, and delivery capabilities of the technology. Arteris Bio relocated its operations to Arizona and established its laboratory at the University of Arizona Tech Park in January 2026. A second patent was filed in June 2026, and the company is now advancing discussions with pharmaceutical and other partners for feasibility and pilot studies while also developing its own cosmetic products based on the platform.

Arteris Bio is developing a transdermal delivery platform based on ethyl lauroyl arginate (LAE) inverse micelles, which carry hydrophilic compounds across the stratum corneum a class of molecules that conventional transdermal approaches cannot move. We have a filed patent estate, a functioning Franz cell and LC-MS/MS capability, and active discussions with pharmaceutical partners who want their own hydrophilic compounds tested in our system. We are small. The founder currently performs the ...
