Job Title: Applications Engineer - Power Systems Rental Projects
Location: Manassas, Virginia
The Applications Engineer - Power Systems Rental Projects is responsible for engaging and collaborating with the rental sales teams and customers on complex power systems rental projects throughout the dealer territory; engage the CAT Rental Power dealer network for the re-rental of Carter rental fleet assets that are identified as underperforming by the rental sales manager. The individual in this position will travel as needed with power systems rental sales representatives in order to assist in customer development and the closing of rental sales opportunities.
Requirements for the Applications Engineer position include:
- Self-starter able to work with limited supervision
- Must have strong networking and relationship-building skills
- Must possess ability to maintain comprehensive project files and generate reports
- Must be able to adapt to changing technology and maintain a high level of product/industry knowledge
- Must have strong written, verbal and presenting skills with ability to interact professionally with all levels of personnel within the organization and customers
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize work with competing demands
- Must have an excellent driving record
- Must be able to travel throughout and beyond territory. Frequent travel is required - overnight or out town via car or airplane
- Must possess ability to handle large volumes of work in a fast-paced environment

Seeking Candidates with:
- Minimum three years' sales and projects experience, preferably in power generation and temperature control
- College degree in related field.
Physical Requirements:
- Required to sit and talk or hear
- Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus
