Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity — Oklahoma City, OK
The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for overall strategy, mission delivery, financial health, culture, and impact. The CEO manages the executive team and directly leads Development (fundraising/partnerships), Advocacy & Public Policy, and Marketing/Branding efforts, while partnering across Construction, Homeowner Services, ReStore (retail), Mortgage Management, IT, HR, and Facilities to expand affordable homeownership in Central Oklahoma.
What You’ll Do
Mission & Strategy: Lead multi-year vision, annual plans, KPIs, and budgets that grow housing production, family services, and retail contribution.
Board Relations & Governance: Serve as primary liaison to the Board and committees; provide clear reporting on strategy, risk, compliance, and performance.
Revenue & Partnerships (Development): Own a diversified fundraising plan (major gifts, corporate/faith/community partners, foundations, campaigns/events, planned giving); cultivate and steward top donors and public/private funders.
Advocacy & Policy: Act as chief public ambassador; shape and advance pro-housing policy with the City of Oklahoma City, regional partners, and the Oklahoma Legislature; mobilize coalitions and grassroots advocates.
Brand, Marketing & Communications: Oversee brand strategy, media relations, digital channels, and issues management to build awareness, volunteers, donors, and ReStore traffic; serve as a confident spokesperson.
Financial Stewardship: With the CFO and Finance Committee, propose/manage the budget, ensure strong controls, and maintain healthy liquidity and responsible growth.
People & Culture: Recruit, develop, and coach a mission-driven leadership team; model values, accountability, and collaboration across staff and volunteers.
Operations & Impact: Drive cross-functional alignment with Construction/Repairs, Homeowner Services, ReStore, and Mortgage to meet production and service goals; use data to improve outcomes.
Community Presence: Build and sustain relationships with civic leaders, neighborhoods, faith partners, businesses, and peer nonprofits to advance mission and visibility.
What You’ll Bring to the Table
Strategic, systems-level leadership with the ability to translate vision into disciplined execution.
Major-gifts fundraising skill and comfort engaging top donors, corporate partners, foundations, and public funders.
Effective public policy and advocacy engagement; confident public speaker and media presence.
Brand/marketing oversight experience; strong storytelling and issues management.
Inclusive, team-first leadership style with a track record of developing leaders and healthy culture.
Data-informed decision-making; financial acumen and prudent risk management.
Deep passion for Habitat’s mission and for affordable homeownership.
Your Education and Experience
10+ years of senior leadership in nonprofits, community development, housing, or complex multi-site operations, including Board partnership and budget/P&L responsibility.
Demonstrated success in fundraising and partnerships; experience with Oklahoma City civic, corporate, philanthropic, and public sectors preferred.
Experience leading cross-functional teams (e.g., development, advocacy, marketing/communications) and partnering with operations (construction/repairs, retail, mortgage/servicing).
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or executive credential preferred.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, exempt position based in Oklahoma City. Standard business hours are Monday–Friday; some evenings/weekends and in-state travel are required. Periodic national travel may be required for conferences or network events.
