Job Summary:
Infrastructure Data Center Technician / Infrastructure Installation Technician
Data Center Technicians will be responsible for completing general rack & stack, patching, labelling and testing of network infrastructure. As well as the decommissioning of hardware & patch cords. Knowledge of using Fluke based test equipment.
Core Responsibilities
Rack & stack → Installing servers/network gear into racks
Cabling → Running Ethernet/fiber cables throughout the facility
Patching → Connecting cables to switches/servers
Labeling & testing → Making sure everything is documented and works
Decommissioning → Removing old equipment cleanly
Infrastructure Installation Technicians will be responsible for the general construction of network cabling, testing & labelling, installation of equipment racks and supporting infrastructure in a data center environment.
Key Responsibilities
Install, route, and secure low-voltage cabling (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A, coax as needed) and fiber optic cabling (single-mode/multimode) per design drawings, SOW, and best practices.
Build out pathways and supports (J-hooks, cable tray, ladder rack, conduit, innerduct) and ensure proper bend radius, fill, and separation from power.
Terminate copper and fiber (patch panels, keystone jacks, 66/110 blocks, fiber enclosures) using manufacturer specifications and proper torque/strain relief.
Test and certify copper cabling (e.g., TIA Cat6/Cat6A) and fiber (OLTS/OTDR as required); troubleshoot faults and rework as needed.
Label cables, ports, racks, and pathways to project standards; maintain as-builts and test results for closeout packages.
Maintain a clean and safe worksite; follow OSHA, NFPA, and company safety requirements including ladder/lift and tool safety.
Mentor junior technicians as needed; provide on-the-job guidance for terminations, testing, and workmanship standards.
Accurately track time, materials, and daily reports; support project managers with status updates and change documentation.

Skills Needed
3–5 years of cabling experience
Familiarity with Fluke testers
Basic networking knowledge
Ability to follow instructions and work cleanly
Applicants must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, a pre-employment technical skills assessment exam, be reliable, be able to take direction, perform all work to the highest professional standards and have positive attitude and work ethic. We have opportunities for day shift and part time employment. Applicants must be able to stand on your feet for a minimum of eight hours a day, lift and carry up to fifty pounds, climb and work from a ladder and use basic hand and power tools. Candidates should have basic hand tools necessary to perform required work assigned to them.

This is not a desk job, it's physical and detail oriented.
Must be able to work in both Ashburn and Manassas areas.
Salary range $25.00 to $45.00 per hour based on background check, education, experience and pre-employment skills assessment exam

$30–$36 → Solid experience (3–5 years)
$37–$45 → Highly experienced / lead-level / specialized skills
