Lead Software Engineer (Full Stack) - Remote (U.S.)

A fast-growing technology company building modern, cloud-based platforms for a complex, real-world industry is looking to hire a Lead Software Engineer. Their products power critical workflows for enterprise clients, and the firm is continuing to invest heavily in engineering as it scales.

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership position where the engineer will balance coding with technical ownership. They will play a key role in shaping architecture, improving system scalability, and ensuring high-quality delivery across a distributed engineering team.

The environment is fully remote and highly collaborative, with multiple teams contributing to a shared platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable, production-grade web applications
• Contribute to system architecture and technical decision-making
• Write clean, maintainable code across backend and frontend components
• Conduct code reviews and uphold engineering best practices
• Partner with product and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver business-critical features
• Mentor engineers and help elevate overall team performance
• Own projects end-to-end, from concept through delivery

Requirements

• 5+ years of full stack web development experience
• Strong backend experience with Ruby or Python
• Proficient and ability to contribute across the stack
• Solid experience working with relational databases (SQL)
• Proven experience leading a team or owning and delivering projects
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Experience building or scaling distributed systems

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud infrastructure and modern tooling (AWS, Docker, messaging systems)
• Familiarity with Redis, Elasticsearch, or event-driven systems
• Background in high-growth or product-focused environments
