Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Is Seeking a Pediatric Endocrinologist in New Brunswick, New Jersey
The Department of Pediatrics at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) is seeking a full-time, career-oriented Pediatric Endocrinologist to join the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology at the Clinical Instructor or Assistant Professor level.
The successful candidate will join four full-time faculty members providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient pediatric endocrinology services. The position also includes opportunities to teach medical students, residents, and fellows while participating in scholarly, research, and community outreach activities.
The Department of Pediatrics at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School includes more than 120 full-time faculty members across 18 pediatric subspecialties. The department supports an outstanding pediatric residency and an accredited Pediatric Endocrinology fellowship, with opportunities for teaching, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Rutgers RWJ is part of RWJBarnabas Health, New Jersey’s largest integrated healthcare system, serving more than three million patients annually. The health system includes four pediatric hospitals and 13 pediatric endocrinologists across three regional divisions, providing extensive clinical and research support. Care is delivered at The Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital within New Jersey’s only pediatric academic health campus, alongside Children’s Specialized Hospital, Rutgers Cancer Institute, and the Rutgers Child Health Institute of New Jersey.
Opportunity Details
The Pediatric Endocrinologist will provide inpatient consultation services at The Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and outpatient care through the Rutgers Child Health Institute of New Jersey.
Responsibilities will include:
- Providing inpatient and outpatient pediatric endocrinology care
- Participating in the division’s 24/7 inpatient consultation coverage
- Educating medical students, residents, and fellows
- Contributing to undergraduate, graduate, and continuing medical education programs
- Participating in scholarly, clinical research, and quality improvement activities
- Supporting community education and outreach initiatives
- Collaborating with pediatric specialists and multidisciplinary care teams
- Contributing to the continued growth of the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology

Candidate Requirements
- MD or DO degree, or equivalent
- Successful completion of an accredited Pediatric Endocrinology fellowship
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Endocrinology
- Eligible for medical licensure in New Jersey
- Strong commitment to clinical care, medical education, scholarship, and collaboration
- Academic qualifications appropriate for appointment at the Clinical Instructor or Assistant Professor level
Compensation and Benefits
The minimum academic base salary for this position is $115,230, with eligibility to participate in the faculty practice.
The final compensation package will be determined by several factors, including the selected candidate’s qualifications, experience, expertise, available funding, market benchmarks, and internal equity. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.
