About the Role:
We're looking for a Scientist on the Research/Biologics team to help us expand what's possible for patients with serious diseases. Reporting to the Associate Principal Scientist, you'll be involved in developing and screening novel gene editing therapies to support Insmed's growing gene editing therapies pipeline. You will collaborate closely with peers across the research organization to bring therapies to patients in need.
What You'll Do:
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to support Insmed's early-stage research pipeline, turning ideas into groundbreaking medicines. You'll also:
- Collaborate with peers within gene editing team and broader research teams to evaluate gene editing therapy candidate properties and function
- Participate in designing and producing novel gene editing therapies candidates
- Develop cell-based biological assays
- Author and review protocols, electronic notebook entries, technical reports, and scientific publications
- Maintain proper documentation of experimental procedures and results
- Communicate results to peers and management in writing and oral presentations
Who You Are:
You have a PhD degree in a Life Science discipline (must be conferred by September 2026).
You are or you also have:
- Expert knowledge and demonstratable hands-on experience in molecular biology including PCR, cloning, protein expression, mutagenesis, and genetic engineering
- Demonstratable hands-on experience with independent experimental design or assay development, including troubleshooting, optimization, and data analysis
- Hands-on experience with culturing different types of cells, including transfection and cell-based assays
- Entrepreneurial spirit, openness to learning, proactive problem-solving attitude, and strong willingness to take on new challenges
- Exceptionally self-motivated and independent, yet with a positive approach to teamwork
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Nice to have (but not required):
- Hands-on experience with flow cytometry
- Hands-on experience with NGS workflows including library construction
- Hands-on experience designing and executing high throughput screens
- Hands-on experience with protein purification and enzymatic assays
Where You'll Work
This role is based in our Bridgewater, NJ research facility and requires full-time, in-person presence to support hands-on collaboration, access specialized equipment, and/or operational needs.

Pay Range:
$103,000.00-131,000.00 Annual
