Section Chief, Hematopathology

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School invites applications for a full-time leadership position as Section Chief of Hematopathology. The successful candidate will guide the Section’s clinical, academic, and research goals while providing oversight of hematopathology services at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and supporting the Jack and Sheryl Morris Cancer Center and Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical and administrative leadership for hematopathology, including quality assurance, accreditation, service development, and patient care.
• Oversee laboratory subspecialty areas, including hematology, flow cytometry, hematopathology-related cytogenetics, and molecular pathology.
• Collaborate with clinical colleagues, participate in tumor boards, and advance multidisciplinary care.
• Teach medical students, residents, and clinical fellows, and contribute to productive scholarly and research activities.
• Promote teamwork, communication, regulatory compliance, patient safety, and continuous quality improvement.
  
  

Qualifications:

• MD, DO, or MBBS degree.
• Licensed or eligible for medical licensure in New Jersey.
• American Board of Pathology certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology or Clinical Pathology.
• American Board of Pathology subspecialty certification in Hematopathology.
  
  

Compensation and Benefits:

The position offers a minimum salary of $340,000 per year. The final offer will reflect qualifications, experience, expertise, available funding, market benchmarks, and internal equity.
