Description

The Travelers Indemnity Company has an opening for a Software Engineer II in Hartford, CT. This position is hybrid; may work from home up to 2 days per week, as permitted.

Perform analysis, design, development, and configuration functions (includes defining technical requirements) with a high degree of accuracy and speed, operating as an individual contributor to team goals. Perform analysis, assessment and resolution for defects and incidents of advanced complexity and escalate appropriately. Tackle well-scoped and loosely scoped IT development problems. Expand technical knowledge and capabilities. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced employees. Leads design solutions at program level and works with business partners to deliver outcome-based solutions. 

Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science or any related STEM field (like engineering and physics) and at least 2 years of experience as a Software Developer or in a related role. Must also possess the following: at least 2 years of programming/development experience with .Net, AWS, Angular and SQL, Go Language and Python; at least 2 years of experience with CI/CD and Agile methodology; at least 2 years of experience in guiding and mentoring other software engineers; demonstrable technical and problem-solving experience debugging production problems; and demonstrable Insurance domain knowledge.
